María Cristina Mayoral has represented financial institutions and private companies in different civil and commercial matters, including lender liability cases before state courts, debt collection procedures, foreclosures, banking, regulatory and compliance assessment, creditor’s rights in bankruptcy proceedings, civil fraud, real estate, drafting and execution of private contracts, mortgage and commercial closings and general legal counseling services.
Education
María Cristina Mayoral is admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (2003), the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico (2005), and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (2008). Licensed notary public (2003). She also obtained a Banking and Financial Law Master Degree (LLM) from Boston University with concentration in Compliance Management and Credit and Lending Transactions (2007).

For this article, Mrs. Mayoral received the Carles Mascareñas Award for the best article of the Law Journal (Revista de Derecho Puertorriqueño) (April 2002).
